Before you can connect to Apache Hive you need to download Hive ODBC driver. ODBC Drivers are provided by Microsoft, Cloudera, HortonWorks and MapR and can be downloaded from these companies web sites.

You can create DSN or connect to Data Source directly.

To connect directly without creating DSN follow the steps below:

1. Specify Server name as SERVER:PORT

2. Add text PORT=port_number to Options edit box if different from defafult.
