Client library load fails

Hi,

tried SQLDBX personal yesterday but cannot connect to my local oracle database. Connecting vie sqlplus works fine. Path includes C:Oracleproduct11.2.0dbhome_1in where oci.dll resides (dated 30.03.2010). OS is Win7 (64 bit), local admin rights are granted. Tried logging the app via -l option but no logfile has been created.

Whenever connecting to the database or pressing the button for server selection in login dialog sqldbx reports 'unable to load oracle client library'.

Waht may be wrong in my system setup? Additional technical information can be provided - pls. require it.

What Oracle client version you have x64 or x86.
Personal edition does not support 64 bit Oracle client.

How can I detect if x86 or x64 has been installed? Installation source is Oracle Enterprise 11G2 (64 bit). OCI.DLL is version 11.2.0.1.

Maybe I have to install Oracle 32 bit client ... I'll give it a try

You can check it by starting SQL*PLUS and then take a look at the process in task manager.

ok, seems to be x64 (no *32 shown). Installed instant client 32bit - SQLDBX works fine. Thanks for your support.
